    James Bond (Goldeneye)

    Post  evan3585 on Sat Jul 31, 2010 7:35 am

Thought it be better if I just made a whole new topic for this model. First thing is the way the model rotates seems kinda messed up. Is there a way to fix this? It seems the figure turns form his waist and its all screwy for me. Not too bad but still kidna annoying.
Also mind if I try a few fixes in Pepakura Designer? Not sure if I'll do anything but was just wondering. I'de say what I changed if anything. Oh course you don't have to use it. His arms are done(Pretty easy). I did his face and am going to probably do his front neck part next then his top head/black hair part. I'll show photos shortly.

If you do any changes just let us know, send us a copy and we will check them out Smile Glad the face was buildable Smile (probably tricky but at least buildable) finding problems is what testbuilding is about Smile If you have trouble fixing problems explain it to us and we will do it for you Smile We are looking forward to seeing the photos Smile If theres anything we can do to help let us know glad that the arm was easy the legs should be really easy too, the only other tricky part other than the head may be joining the legs to the waist Smile We was also wondering (if this works out of course) if we should turn this into a series of models from goldeneye could do oddjob, jaws, boris etc trying to scale them to each other (that would make oddjob tricky as he is so short lol) We dont mean you would have to test build them all just wanted to see what you thought of the idea Smile

I love that idea. Odd job would be great. So would Boris lol. Of course if theres a way to make the faces not so messed up that would be great cus I'm sure people will have trouble with that. I'm not good at 3D modeling so I'm out of that one lol.
I could rip some characters from Goldeneye if you guys need any help. Goldenye is the best game ever! Brings back old memories lol. Anyways. The head is done for the most part. I think the face doesnt look that bad from a distance. Just like when playing the game really. It is N64 graphics after all. I didn't do much of scoring execpt the glue folds.
Here is a few photos: (Flash was to bright for most of them so turned it off and my lamps bulb blew out. Gotta get a new one today lol.)

The head is completely done now.

looking good so far Smile we will definitely have to think of something to make the faces easier when it comes to n64 models it really does pay to score every fold line though but it is so frustrating lol keep the great work Smile when it comes to photos these are fine for the forum its just the final photo that needs to be really clear Smile
We will rip the models dont worry about that as models from this game can be tricky which is weird because perfect dark is really easy to rip from maybe we should do a Joanna Dark

If theres a way to edit the right side of his face to mirror his left side(in 3ds max, blender or whatever you guys use) I think that would be easier to build plus look better. Also maybe change a little of the texture so both sides don't look too too exact but isn't necessary. Just an idea:)

I may do this model again after I finish this one but score ever fold and see the difference. Havnt decided yet. Also I'll make sure I have a really good photo of the model when finished:)

we dont really want to change textures or the shape too much as then it will need testbuilding again but we will find a way of making the face easier before release Smile

we also forgot to mention in pepakura you can pan the view by holding both mouse buttons using this with rotation you can see the model from every direction also zooming in and out with shift+right click helps Smile

Thanks for the info. Is there a way I can make it so he rotates without spinning. This is kinda confusing to explain:) If you understand what I'm trying to say. I want his body to turn 360 like a real person does. No big deal though.

That sucks. Maybe on there next version if were lucky:) Theres a few changes I'de love to see. I think a paint shop type thing or something would be nice. That way you can free hand something right in there for notes. Draw arrows/fixes or whatever. You can export to a image file and open photoshop or whatever but still would be a nice added feature.
